Last week, I shared my spring mantel. I decorated it very easily and made DIY Mossy Spring Easter Egg to add to it as well. The mossy eggs are so easy to make, the kids can help out. The spring green color and the texture from the moss is gorgeous and really embraces the spring season. The wood eggs are gorgeous on their own and I have used them around the house in other places, but I wanted to give some of them a little more “umph” in the spring direction.
Let’s get craftin’!

Supplies Used To Make DIY Mossy Spring Easter Egg:
“Upper Canada” from Fusion Mineral Paint
Cardboard Egg Carton
Scissors
I picked up my wood eggs in the Target Hot Spot, but you can find them on Amazon as well.
All I did was use Tacky glue and placed the spring moss all over the wood eggs.
I just think they are so fun for spring!!!
If course I could not leave the cardboard egg cartons alone. They add to the look.
I cut the sections from the egg carton and painted them with “Upper Canada” from Fusion Mineral Paint. When the paint dried, I went over them with a little antique wax to deepen the color and make them look a little aged.
I placed the DIY Mossy Spring Easter Egg inside the painted egg cartons once it dried. I added them all to the spring mantel on top of white porcelain cupcake stands.
This was such an easy craft, but I love the color and texture it adds to the mantel. I think a bunch of these would be great inside a cloche or in a basket.
They aren’t perfect, but they are cute and I like that. The kids helped me create them and it is little crafty moments shared together that make all the memories we will talk about over and over again. My daughter wants to make some more and maybe add some butterflies to them. I think that would be adorable!
I hope this craft inspired you to start creating some spring pieces for your home.
