This DIY Painted Buffet Makeover was sponsored by Behr. All opinions and the work are my own. 🙂
I have been waiting and waiting to share this post with you! When I received the email that Behr was looking to collaborate on a project, I was beyond excited! Today, I am finally able to share the project. I rescued this buffet at one of the first yard sales I stopped at earlier this spring. The owners were moving out of town and needed to get rid of it. They were hoping that someone would buy it and paint it. Not kidding! I told them that was my plan and they were happy to send it home with me. They had had it in their dining room for years and it had some wear and tear on it and just needed a little paint love to make it pretty again.
What do you think of it? Would you have rescued it? I saw the potential it had and couldn’t wait for it to be my first big furniture makeover this spring. I shared the entire transformation over HERE on Behr.com.
Every time I make something over with paint alone, I want to preach and preach about the impact paint alone can make. If you have pieces in your home that you don’t love anymore, paint them. It will change the entire look and feel of the pieces and you will fall in love with them all over again.
I hope you will head over to Behr.com to see the full transformation of this buffet makeover. I promise, it is worth the click.
What a find, Lindsey! I have used the Ultra Pure White throughout my home and love it. I could have seen it done in a smokey gray too, but love the white!
Gray would have been amazing!!
Grey
You use Ultra Pure White, I would have used a red shade: No More Drama and made it a statement piece.
Red would be pretty!
You used the Ultra Pure White 1850 and I love it but I may have used the Submarine Gray N470-7.
Gray would have been pretty too!
I love it! I would have let some of the wood show through by distressing it! Just my style! I love the white color!! Beautiful job!
I thought about that.
I love how this came out! It’s so fresh and inviting. The way you decorated the shelves is perfect! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Michele!
I like the buffet in Behr Ultra White. I think you made a good color choice.
Thank you!
I think it’s fantastic. love the details! SO much potential!
Yes!
Beautiful work. I love the transformation.
Thanks!
What a gorgeous piece! I also would have painted it white!
🙂
Beautiful! Love the color choice but boy, what a project. How long did it take you from start to finish?
It was a couple of hours. It wasn’t that bad.
Amazing transformation!!
Thank you!
Love the buffer piece. What finish do you use? Flat? I’m about to paint an antique church pew I bought and would like to paint it using the same paint and color.
Use a matte finish paint.
You used Behr Ultra Pure White Matte paint. I love the color and would have used the same. I might’ve sanded it a little afterwards so some of the wood would show through for a little more rustic of a feel, but that’s just my style. Looks great as is!
I thought about that, but decided to just keep it crisp white. It would have looked great like that though!
I definitely would have saved that! It has lovely woodworking!
🙂
So worth a rescue. Great details.
Thanks!
Just got my very own workshop. Yeah!! I am so excited to get to work refinishing and repurposing pieces. I love following your projects and have gotten so many great ideas to work from.
Your own workshop?! What a dream! I NEED to find a place to do projects. After this flip house we need to really start looking.
Beautiful piece! I love the color and the transformation!
Thanks!
Just love the transformation! Perfect piece with the perfect color! I’ve never used Behr’s Ultra Pure White before, but with so many projects left to do, I know what I’ll be issuing!! So thank you SOmuch for sharing!!!
Thanks Melissa!
I LOVE this piececto boys! God gave me two girls because the first thing I loved before one ounce of paint went on was the scalloping detail on it. I personally love the Behr Ultra Pure White. I have a lot of warm tones and iron accents, so I could also see this in black. But, what I though I’d really have fun doing to itvus painting it a very pale pink / blush and repurposingvtge buffet in a craft room for my girls. I’m getting bolder in my forties…. I love the result of your transformation! Great job on the rescue and the revival!
Thank you friend! Love all your ideas!! Keep sharing them!!
Ultra pure white
I would have used maybe like a teal? Something about that said teal.
That would be pretty too!
Lovely piece with great details.
It does have great details!
You used Ultra Pure White and it is beautiful! I would have used a blue like Beachside Drive. I’m stuck on blue right now.

What a beautiful buffet — definitely worth rescuing and the time invested in remaking it! And as you mentioned, very versatile in the different ways it could be used. Nice job!
Thank you Kelly!
Another stunner…but I’m not surprised 🙂
🙂 Thank you friend!
You used Behr Ultra White and it looks great. I would like to use the Rustic Taupe if I had a beautiful buffet piece to paint.
That would be pretty too!
The Behr Ultra Pure White makes the details pop. I usually use Behr Swiss Coffee to paint furniture in the need of some loving.
I will have to try that color!
You used Behr Ultra Pure White and I would use the same color. We just moved to our new smaller space and I used white quite a bit to keep things light and bright. I love the final look of your piece.

Charcoal gray would be so pretty!
Love how the piece turned out with Ultra Pure White.
Thanks!
You used their BEHR PREMIUM PLUS ULTRA® in “Ultra Pure White” in matte finish. I have a whole lot of blues in the house and have always found it restful I might have chosen their Loyal (blue) is a semi gloss (only because it is easier to clean) I do like your choice of white though as it would go more places.
Thanks Ellen. I am loving blues too!

Ultra Pure White looks good! My kitchen is white and yellow so I would go with a pale yellow to make it stand out against my white wall. You did a great job! I love finding new people named LindsAy. I grew up with a bunch of LindsEy friends and I was the odd one as they said! lol
You used Ultra Pure White(1850),which gave it new life!
I would have painted it a glossy Black
Ultra pure white is my “safe” go to but one of these days I am going to be adventurous and paint something red, which would look great with a distressed finish on your hutch.
I love the Ultra Pure White but I could see it being beautiful in Polar bear as well! I’m all about those white tones.

Ultra Pure White, I’d have gone green with Sun Valley
I am in awe of your talent! I think the Ultra Pure white that you chose was gorgeous! I’m pretty sure that I would not be able to tackle that type of creative project but were I brave enough to try I think I would choose frosted sage as it would go well with our decor!
Ultra pure white. Honestly, I would have went with the same color. I’ve been trying to go more clean and light this past year. White is classic and easy to change your décor to.

You used Ultra pure white and the transformation is incredible! I would have used the Seagull Gray color because most of my house has tones of gray.

You used Behr ultra pure white, and I think you made a great choice! I myself probably would have chosen a white with an antique gray underneath and sandpaper it a bit to give it a weathered look!

The paint you used was Ultra Pure White. BEAUTIFUL! But my favorite colors are always gray and blue 🙂
ultra pure white…great pick!!!
The transformation is incredible! So clean, so appealing. You used Ultra Pure White
1850 and I think it was the perfect choice. White makes such a great blank slate to showcase your dishes and knick knacks.
Forgot to add – I would have chosen that color too! 🙂
You used pure white and it looks amazing. for my house I think I would have used a grayish- blue, and then a color tint of that color to high light some areas. Did you know you can ask the paint company if they have paint that was returned or they mixed wrong and get it for cheap. Somethings they have paint they mixed and noone picked up.
What a find! I love it!!!!
I’d LOVE that in my house!
I would have used a grey! You used Ultra Pure White
