3 Ingredient Oreo Cake Pops (Without The Stick)

4 Mins read

During the Christmas season, I was sharing some of the 3 ingredient recipes I make every year on my Instagram stories. I received many requests to put the recipes on my blog so you can easily find them. Fast forward a few weeks and I finally made a few batches so I could share the recipes with you. I am starting with what I am calling the “3 Ingredient Oreo Cake Pops” (without the stick). You could put these on a stick, but we feel like cake pops are hard to eat sometimes and since these get eaten so fast around here, it is just easier to omit the stick and pop them in your mouth. 🙂

Ingredients For Oreo Cake Pops:

1 package regular Oreos

1-8 oz. block cream cheese

1 bag semi-sweet chocolate chips

Supplies Needed To Make Oreo Cake Pops:

Food Processor

Wax Paper

Sprinkles (optional)

Spoon

Forks

Microwavable-safe Bowl/Measuring Cup To Melt Chocolate Chips (I love using my 8 cup measuring cup for this)

Directions To Make These 3 Ingredient Oreo Cake Pops:

This process couldn’t be easier which is why they pop up around here more often than not.

First, add the cream cheese and all the Oreos to the food processor. Pulse until the two combine and becomes smooth like cookie dough. It will be loose from all the mixing, but don’t worry.

Refrigerate the mixture for a couple of hours or over night.

When the dough is set and can be formed into balls, you are ready to melt the chocolate topping.

You could use a double broiler to melt the chocolate chips, but I have found that the method I use it faster and the chocolate never burns.

I put the bag of chocolate chips into my 8 c. measuring cup and add about a tablespoon of vegetable oil to the chocolate chips. Then, I stir the chocolate chips to make sure they are all coated with the oil. I put the measuring cup in the microwave in 30 second increments. After each 30 second increment, I bring the measuring cup out and stir the chocolate chips. The ensures you won’t burn the chocolate and gives you full control over the melting process. I usually have to put it in the microwave three times.

Once you have the chocolate chips melted, it is time to form your Oreo Cake Pops.

I use a spoon to get a small amount of the Oreo and cream cheese mixture out at a time. I roll the mixture into about 1″ balls. Then, I put the ball inside the melted chocolate chips and roll it around with forks to make sure the entire ball is covered in chocolate. Once it is covered, I place it on a piece of wax paper and sprinkle with sprinkles (you don’t have to add sprinkles). Once I get all the balls made, I pop them in the fridge to set.
