This sage green dresser makeover was made possible with a beautiful paint color and gel stain that turned it into a stunning piece again.
I found this dresser at my local Restore.
I loved this piece because the legs were tall. It is a smaller piece but yet, it is taller than most pieces I rescue.

The first thing I did with this piece was clean it and give it a good scuff-sand. I talk about how I clean my furniture pieces before I make them over HERE.
As I was scuff-sanding, the was finding that the top finish was coming off fairly easily. I decided to sand the top and the legs down to the bare wood so I could add my favorite gel stain to them and then paint the rest of the piece in one of my favorite sage paint colors.
When I find a piece that has amazing legs like this dresser had, I love it when I am able to leave the legs unpainted. When I am painting the rest of the piece, it really makes the legs stand out even more when they are stained and not painted what the rest of the piece is.
The same goes for the top. If I am able to do it easily, I will remove the top finish and stain it.
The top of this piece was perfect for that. It turned out beautifully!

I was lucky to have all the original knobs on this piece when I bought it. They were in great condition so all I had to do was scuff sand them a bit and then add some of the gel stain to them as well.
I will be selling this piece but if we had a flip house right now, I would love to use this piece as a vanity! The height makes it the perfect fit for a vanity.
If we didn’t just redo our bathroom, I would have seriously thought about making this our new vanity.
