Buy used furniture at garage sales, thrift stores, or online marketplaces and then refinish or restore it to sell for a higher price.
This is the most obvious way to make money flipping furniture. Learning how to transform furniture pieces and bringing them up to date or more relevant for the current time is a sure way to make money flipping furniture. People will pay premium prices for one-of-a-kind and/or custom pieces of furniture. It’s important to develop a good eye for design and quality and to understand the market and what sells. Building a reputation and a loyal customer base is also key to success in the furniture flipping business.

Look for unique or vintage pieces that can be sold at a premium to collectors or antique enthusiasts.
Unique furniture pieces and vintage furniture pieces are sought after by many people. If you can find these pieces at a low cost and then turn around and sell them for profit, it is one of the easiest ways to make money flipping furniture. The hardest part about this is finding those pieces and a price point that you can turn around and make a profit. It can be done. I have done it a few times. Those pieces are just harder to find at a price point that leaves room for a profit on the other side.

Create custom furniture or home decor items to sell to specific niches or individuals.
This is a great way to make money flipping furniture. If you can offer custom work to furniture pieces, people will pay a premium for that. Once you start flipping furniture, you will find that people will reach out to you and ask if you can makeover/paint/refinish a piece they have. They will have an idea or a look they want and ask you to do the work. You can command a higher price point for custom pieces. It is something to think about as you get into this business.
