THIS IS NOT A SPONSORED POST! I wanted to start the post off by saying that. I have been wanting to get a steam mop for some time and I found a budget-friendly steam mop that is easy to use and cleans the floors so well. Who knew that water alone could do such a great job?
I bought this steam mop.
I shopped around for a bit to find a steam mop that was easy to use and one that didn’t cost a ton of money.
This post should also start by telling you how this “wanting a steam mop” came about. I am a little OCD when it comes to cleaning our home. It is something I need to work on all the time. I have always washed our floors on my hands and knees. I have wanted to find a better solution and one that would make me feel like I was giving the floors a good cleaning without getting on my hands and knees. When I first learned that a steam mop cleans your floors with just the steam from the water inside, I was intrigued. That meant I didn’t need to buy more cleaning supplies. With it just being water and steam, I could also use it on the different floor coverings we have in our home. It sounded like a win-win to me.
We have hardwood, laminate, and vinyl flooring in our home. I have used this steam mop on all three.
Here is a short video showing you the first times I was using it and how it works:
I love how easy it is to use. Plug it in and it is ready to go. There are a few things I have learned with using a steam mop that I wish I would have known the first time I used it.
Important Things To Know When Using A Steam Mop
- DO NOT IDLE!
Do not leave the steam mop sitting in one place. You need to keep it moving the entire time you are using it. It can damage your flooring if you leave it in one place for too long.
- Don’t plug the steam mop in until you are ready to use it
It heats up very fast. Once you plug it in, you need to use it.
- It doesn’t pick up anything
This is a mop. It is not meant to pick up crumbs and dust bunnies. Make sure you vacuum and/or sweep the floor before using the steam mop.
- Cleaning the pad
You can wash the pad in your washer which I love. It is reusable.
Do you have a steam mop?
If you have thought about getting one, I would highly recommend it. I hope this budget-friendly steam mop post has answered some of your questions and has shown you how easy this one it to use.
My favorite things about this steam mop:
- You don’t need any extra cleaning solutions.
- You can use distilled or tap water.
- The pad is washable/reusable.
- The price of this mop is so good.
- It is a fun little gadget that the entire family will like to use.

It’s great and all that you are liking this steam mop but I am concerned. Steam is definitely not something you want to put on your hardwood floors. It will, in time, warp the floors. I looked at the mop through your post and it’s kind of misleading. They show pictures of a floor just like yours but they do not in any way tell you it can be used on wood floors. All it says is hard floors. It’s a beautiful thought but seriously, check into it.
I did. Thank you. I have used it on the other floors in our home.
