Welcome to the 2nd annual Home for the Holidays Blog Tour hosted by Sondra Lyn at Home. All this week, 30 of the today’s finest blogs have been sharing different holiday ideas. Today, it’s all about Christmas Gift Wrap Ideas.
I love giving gifts any time of year, but at Christmas, it is my favorite. Shopping for gifts is great, but wrapping them is where all the joy is for me. I try and make each gift fun for the recipient to open and also pretty for under the tree.
It seems that my Christmas Gift Wrap changes every year. It changes with how I am decorating, but a lot of it also has to do with what I picked up on clearance the year before to embellish the gifts. When I start pulling out our Christmas decorations, I always get excited to see what I picked up the previous year. It is like Christmas before Christmas!
This year, every gift will start with natural butcher paper. I adore plain colored wrapping paper because your embellishments really stand out.
The gift below is one of my favorites. It is natural, rustic and pretty all at the same time. I got the lace in the Dollar Spot at Target months ago. The greenery is from the DIY Wood Gift Bag we made for the teachers this year.
I love baker’s twine and I think it looks great on gifts.
It is simple and perfect.
I added green and white baker’s twine with green twine to this small gift and then attached the tag with a small clothespin.
The kid’s gifts are a lot of fun to wrap. I used one of our left-over homemade wooden Christmas Tree Ornaments and hot glued pom-poms to it. Then, I added ribbon to the back so the kids can hang it on their tree when they get home.
Who doesn’t love reindeer ribbon on their present?
This was an easy one to put together. I did use a little hot glue to keep the reindeer in place.
I also used red and white baker’s twine on gifts. Small clothespins worked well on these. This is another favorite wrapped gift so far. 😉

I have many more gifts to wrap and I am excited to do each and every one of them. I make it a fun time by turning on the Christmas music or watching a Christmas movie while I do it. This time of year is so special and I try to make the most out of every part of it.
Tell me what your favorite Christmas Gift Wrap trick is. Do you make fancy bows? Do you use colorful wrapping paper? Maybe you don’t like wrapping gifts. I want to hear that too! 🙂

All such great ideas! I am a big fan of brown paper and baker’s twine, but you’ve given me more ideas for easy and fun embellishments!
Thanks Meredith!
I love all those lovely details on your gift wrapping. The tree is lovely and someone can add that to their tree. So sweet.
Thank you Vanessa!

Thank you Meegan!
Lindsay the wrapping is very pretty. I have become very partial to brown paper wrapping lately. It is the perfect canvas to be able to create anything on. I love how you have embellished it with lots of neatuaral elemetns and yarn. The tree looks so festive when there are presents underneath wrapped in such a pretty manner.
Thank you Mary! I love wrapping with a plain colored paper because then you can do anything on top!
I love how you were able to make plain brown wrapping paper look so pretty by using simple things like twine, lace, etc. Their all very pretty! Pinning!

Thank you Cheryl! Merry Christmas!
Love that so many of us used brown paper wrapping… love it! Love the fresh greenery and your cute pom-pom tree!
Thanks Maryann!
Hi Lindsay, will you spill the beans on where you found that great reindeer ribbon? Think keeping your presents wrapped in kraft paper and then letting the embellishments shine is brilliant. You could easily reuse many of the ’embellishments’ year after year, which is neat (and thriftyI) Thanks for sharing.
Lynn
Thank you Lynn. If I remember right, I think I got the ribbon on clearance last year at TJ Maxx…..
I love to use greenery in my wrapping. Thank you for all the ideas!
