DIY Box Made With Chalk Couture

2 Mins read

This DIY box project could not be any easier.

I have said it many times, but whenever I find wood boxes at yard sales, I pick them up. They usually don’t cost much and I use them for everything! They are great for decorating, but they are also good for organizing, making your closets look good and your pantry neat.

I found this particular box at a church sale a couple of weeks ago.

It was a great size, but I didn’t like the design on the front.

Let me put my “preachy pants” on for a minute. In order to save thousands of dollars decorating your home exactly how you want it, you have to look past the ugly and see what a piece can be once you get done with it. There is potential in so many things and that is how I have saved so much money decorating our home. Yard sales are your best friend when it comes to decorating on a budget. There are certain things I will always grab at yard sales and I wrote a post listing my top 10 things you must always buy when you are yard saling. You can find that list HERE

I created a video to show you what the box looked like when I bought it and how easy it was to transform to this cute Bouquets & Vase wood box:

You can also use these easy steps:

  1. Cut the transfer if needed.
  2. Take the transfer off the backing and place it on the surface you are adding it to. Make sure to press the transfer down really well – especially around the letters and designs.
  3. Open the Chalkology Paste and mix it with the Multi-Tool.
  4. Add some of the paste to the transfer in different areas. You don’t need a lot.
  5. Use the squeegee to push the paste all over the transfer making sure to cover the letters and designs fully.
  6. Squeegee off any excess paste and put it back in the jar.
  7. Close the jar and pull the transfer off.
  8. Let dry completely.
  9. Clean the transfers, Multi-Tool and squeegee.
