These DIY Christmas ornaments will have you and your family creating baubles for the tree and memories that will last a lifetime.
DIY Christmas Sweater Ornaments
Whenever I am browsing Pinterest, I always fall in love with the look of Scandinavian designs. I especially fall in love with it around the holidays. In particular, the minimal, simple vibe that comes with the Scandinavian design is what draws me in. Our holiday decor doesn’t look like that exactly, but there are elements of it around our home. These DIY Christmas Sweater Ornaments remind me of Scandinavian holiday decor and I knew…
I have the best memories of different projects my mom used to do with me and my sister. We were always creating things. She would have us go on “treasure walks” as she called them. We would forage for cool sticks and rocks and other things to bring home and craft with. We loved it. Around the holidays, she would have us making things as well. I remember her making a big bowl of popcorn and we would pop in a Christmas movie and string popcorn for the Christmas tree. I have so many fond memories of creating these things with my mom that I have made it a priority to do it with my own kids.
It is the most fun to create around the holidays and this is such an easy ornament idea that the entire family can do. Even if your kids are older, they can still have fun with holiday activities to make the season last a little longer.
Okay, let’s get to this easy project!
DIY Ornaments Made With Tiny Frames
These DIY ornaments made with tiny frames are another easy way to make custom ornaments, on the cheap, to fit your holiday style perfectly!
I love these little frames and whenever I see them at thrift stores, I pick them up. My mom used to have these hung in our home when we were little, so maybe that is why I am drawn to them. I love their tiny size and…

I love mercury glass ornaments. They look old and have a ton of character. I have seen a lot of knock-offs over the past couple of years that were really good dupes. I have never bought any and hope to run into the real deal sometime when I am at a thrift store, yard sale, or estate sale. Until then, I thought I would try and DIY some and see how well it worked. I am excited to share the process with you today and show you the products that…
DIY Nutcracker Christmas Ornaments
When I saw these small, wood nutcrackers, I fell in love. They were so so cute and full of so much potential. I didn’t have a plan for them when I bought them, but I had to grab them because I knew something would come to me.
The nutcrackers sat on the table in my office for a couple of days and then I started making another DIY Wood Burned Christmas Tree Garland and the idea for the ornaments came to me.
This is such a fun ornament and the process is…
I ran into a friend who was making homemade ornaments. She was mod-podging napkins to wood ornaments. She had bright, red, and green, holiday napkins she was adding to the ornaments. I thought it was a fun craft idea, but didn’t think much more about it.
Then, while I was sharing one of my Target shopping trips on Instagram (you can find me on Instagram HERE), I came across the Hearth and Hand holiday napkins. They were so simple, with a black and white design that they really caught my eye. I have been keeping the color palette to black, green, and white with the Christmas decor so the napkins would fit right in. Once I thought about it some more,
Wood Bead Stars & Snowflakes Ornaments
I saw a wood bead star (they look more like a snowflake to me so that is why you will see both words used interchangeably in this post) and wanted to learn how to make it ASAP. I think they are unique Christmas ornaments that would look great on our tree this year.
Whenever I figure out how to make something like this, I love sharing it here. I really thought the process was going to be hard, but once I got into the swing of it, it was easy to do.
I made a video to show you the process because…
DIY Embroidery Hoop Christmas Ornament
This Christmas Ornament idea has been on my mind for the past few months. For me, ideas for projects come to me in many different forms, during the wrong seasons, and in a round about ways. When I made my free fall printable, I loved the simplicity of the wreath I put on there.
Then, when I was searching for wreaths and finally came up with the DIY wreaths for the chairs we hung in our entry, an idea for a Christmas ornament came to mind.
This Christmas ornament was so easy to make.
I started off by staining all of the embroidery hoops in Dark Walnut stain.
Once they were dry, I traced the hoops onto pieces of…
