Fall Wreaths: DIY Burlap Pumpkin Wreath

2 Mins read

I am not a huge “wreath” person. When I start thinking about adding something to our front door for fall, I don’t think of a traditional wreath. Although, I would love to find some boxwood wreaths that don’t cost an arm and a leg, I usually don’t hang a “wreath” on our door. For me, fall wreaths can be so many things; a broken rake, a branch basket or a simple greenery wreath with a few pumpkins added to it. This DIY Burlap Pumpkin Wreath was so easy to make and it was perfect for our front door.

Fall Wreaths Directions:

This wreath could not have been easier. When I saw the embroidery hoop, it looked like a pumpkin to me. I started thinking of different ways I could make it a simple piece to add to our front door for fall.

This is how I did it:

I cut the burlap ribbon to fit the embroidery hoop. It took five pieces of ribbon.

Once I had the burlap ribbon placed, I tightened the hoop to hold it all in place. Then, I cut off the excess on the back.

Lastly, I tied raffia around the top of the hoop and added the artificial acorn piece. The raffia and the leaves on the acorn piece really make this piece look like a pumpkin.

This DIY Fall Wreath was another great project that took me under thirty minutes to make. I am not going all out this fall for decorating, but I am adding a few touches here and there. I have a fall tour coming up at the end of the month and a fall porch to decorate for. This season is my favorite and instead of decorating it away, I want to enjoy every crisp moment it brings.

Do you hang fall wreaths on your front door during the fall?
