DIY Pillar Candle Holder

2 Mins read

This DIY pillar candle holder is a great way to display your flameless pillar candles with just a few supplies from your local craft stores.

This candle holder could not be easier to make. You could change it up to use things you already have on hand. I didn’t have anything that was a great fit for the idea I had so I went to Hobby Lobby and found the perfect supplies to use.

Supplies To Make This DIY Pillar Candle Holder

(1) 18″ Wood Base Piece

(6) 4″ Round Wood Plaques

Wood Glue

Wood Craft Candlestick Holders

Drill

Nail Gun

Stain

Steps To Make The Pillar Candle Holder

  • Sand all the wood pieces.

stain

  • Stain or paint the wood pieces. I chose the “Early American” stain color.

stained

  • Once the pieces are dry, assemble the candleholder.
  • Measure to center three of the 4″ round pieces on the base plaque.

nail gun

  • Secure them with a nail gun.
  • Now it is time for the “stems” of the candleholders. When the craft wood candleholders are stacked they look like a taller candlestick. Since I had one smaller pillar candle and two taller ones, I wanted the middle candleholder to be taller than the two sides.

put on

  • I put two together for the side candles and three for the middle one.

drilled

  • We secured the first two with a screw.

gluing

  • We glued the third one on for the middle pillar.

measure

Allow the glue to dry completely between steps.

  • Once together, allow the glue to dry.
  • Once dry, flip the entire piece over and measure the center to attach the top rounds to the tops of the “stems”.

gluing

  • Add wood glue to the marked area and set the “stems” on the glued area.

put together

  • Let it sit overnight to fully dry.

I love the candles that Luminara has. For this DIY pillar candle holder, I wanted to create something that would hold all three of my Luminara pillar candles. I have one of the 3″ x 4.5″ Ivory Flameless Pillar Candles with a scalloped top. I also have two of the 3″ x 6.5″ Ivory Pillars. The flames move just like real candles and you don’t have to worry about them because they aren’t real flames. Luminara gave me a coupon code to share with you. You can use the code “MYCREATIVEDAYS10” on anything on their site! You can shop HERE. They have the most amazing flameless candles. Some of them are even scented! They are made so well and you will use them all year round.

Make sure to check them out for sure. Since I have gotten these, I have saved so much money because I am not buying candles to burn. Those candles don’t last forever as the Luminara does. They are a great investment if you love the glow of candles in your home like I do.
