Dresser Makeover With Silk Paint
Step 1: Prep Your Dresser
Before diving into the painting process, it’s crucial to prepare your dresser properly. Start by cleaning the surface thoroughly to remove any dirt, dust, or grime. You can see how I like to clean my furniture makeovers HERE.
Then, remove any hardware or knobs. If you are painting and/or staining, the next step is sanding. You want to at least scuff-sand the areas you will be painting. If I am sanding any part of a furniture piece, I sand the area down to raw wood. I was going to paint the body of this dresser, so it just needed a scuff-sand there. I was staining the drawer fronts so they needed to be sanded down fully. To see the difference between a scuff-sand and full sand, head to my post HERE.
Once you are done sanding, make sure to wipe away any sanding dust or debris left over before the next step.

Supplies Used In This Dresser Makeover With Silk Paint
Paint (I used the color “Glacier” for this makeover)
Gel Stain (I used the color “Golden Ash” for the drawers)
Step 2: Choose Your Silk Paint Color
