What is it about a drum table that is so charming?
I have had my grandmother’s drum table in our living room for years. (Until I painted a dresser that made me rearrange the entire living room). Drum tables appeal to me because of their round top and their three legs. They come in all shapes and sizes (which I didn’t know until recently). Like buffets, I don’t come across many drum tables to make over, but I have rescued a couple in the past few months.
The first drum table I rescued was really big. REALLY BIG. I have never seen one big enough to fit two dining room chairs next to it. It was the perfect size for two people to eat on comfortably.
Before the bigger drum table, I found a smaller one that was in need of some TLC.
This was more the size I was used to. It was sturdy, but had a lot of knicks, dings and water marks.
Before I found these tables, I was really contemplating painting my grandmother’s drum table. I haven’t had the guts to actually do it though.

I painted this table in “Soap Stone” from Fusion Mineral Paint.
Just like the dresser I painted in this color, this table changes colors.
Sometimes it looks gray and other times it looks blue.
I left the metal feet unpainted. They are a great feature of this table.
My succulents are still alive!!!!
I am so excited about it that I picked up a few smaller ones at Lowes a couple of weekends ago.
Do you have a drum table in your home? What do you use it for?
I recently was able to pick my first barn. I can’t tell you how much fun it was and how excited I was about all the treasures we found. Make sure to follow along with me on Instagram and Facebook where I share all my fun pickin’ adventures and treasures I find.
If you can’t find a drum table at your local thrift stores, I found some great options online:
