If you love easy meals and like quiche this easy quiche recipe is one your family will love. You can customize it to what your family likes and use ingredients that you probably already have on hand.
I am all about easy meals any time of day. I am also someone who likes to try new recipes and cook different things for my family. This easy quiche recipe is just that – EASY. When I decided to make this, I wasn’t planning on posting about it because I was just trying to use up some ingredients that we had on hand without having to run to the store. I also had to almost double the recipe because my 9″ pie plate broke and I haven’t replaced it so I have a much bigger pie plate I used for this recipe. You can use whatever your family likes in this quiche. If I were to make it again, I would definitely add some bell peppers to it.
Here is the way I made this quiche with what we had on hand:
Ingredients For Easy Quiche Recipe:
Crust: (I used the same crust recipe as my Strawberry Pie and took out the powdered sugar)
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. oil
2 T. milk
1/2 tsp. salt
Quiche:
1 c. milk
4 eggs
Salt/Pepper to taste
1/2 – 1 pound bacon sausage, depending on how much you like (you could just use bacon, just sausage, ham, or leave out the meat and add veggies you like)
1 c. shredded white cheddar (or whatever cheese you like)
1 small onion
You could add any veggies you like (tomatoes, peppers, spinach, etc.). I wanted to add bell peppers, but we didn’t have any on hand.
Directions For Easy Quiche Recipe:
Crust:
Preheat oven to 350°. Mix everything together and put in a 9″ pie dish. Push the dough up around the edges.
Bake the crust for 10 minutes and take out of oven.
Quiche:
Cook the onion and bacon sausage on the stove until sausage is done. Mix the eggs, milk, cheese, salt and pepper in a bowl. Once the sausage and onion are done, let it cool for a little bit and then add to the egg mixture. Mix and then pour into the pie crust you just pulled out of the oven.
Put it back in the oven and cook for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
You could make this for any meal. It doesn’t have to be just for breakfast. All you need on the side is some fruit or maybe a light salad if you make it for lunch or dinner.
This easy quiche recipe is a great one to have on hand because you can customize it for however you like or to whatever you have on hand. I like to use up things we have when it comes time to a grocery run. If I can use up what we have first before we head to the store I save so much money because I am not wasting what we already have and I am not buying things we don’t need. Next time I make this, I would like to add bell peppers and maybe asparagus.
