I can’t get enough of fall content. I hope you aren’t sick of it yet. Fall is being added to our home one step at a time. As I find things, I get more and more excited about decorating. The antique hutch I got from my mom was in desperate need of a fall makeover after it stood neglected this summer while we working on the flip house. It was the perfect place for a fall vignette.
(Or any vignette for that matter. I just love styling this thing.).
To start the fall vignette, I took everything out of the hutch. I wanted to start with a clean slate, but I was also purging anything and everything that I didn’t love or that we didn’t use anymore. Nothing in the house has been safe. We are having a huge yard sale in our neighborhood soon so I want to get rid of all the things.
Once I had the hutch cleared, I pulled out all of my fall decor. I had three huge bins of fall decor. I purged two of them!! Two huge bins of fall decor is heading to the sale! It felt so good, but then I wasn’t left with much for the fall season. I don’t mind that. I don’t want a bunch of “stuff” cluttering our home so I started getting creative with the fall vignette in the infamous hutch.
The first thing I wanted to do was move our mug rack into the hutch. It used to sit next to the coffee maker in the dining room, but I wanted things streamlined and simple on the bar in the dining room.
Then, I started thinking about fall colors and textures and started shopping our home.
I put the wicker charges I love to use inside the hutch. They have fantastic fall color and texture.
Then, I added two of my favorite scales to the hutch.
I added some wood cutting boards and other “wood” pieces to the hutch and then started added some fall touches.
I picked up some great fall floral picks from Hobby Lobby that were a great fall addition to the hutch.
Some galvanized pieces and concrete pots added some cool tones to the hutch which play great with the warm tones of the wood, books and wicker. Faux pumpkins that I have picked up from different places brings the season to this antique hutch without much effort at all.

There are certain places in our home that I love decorating. For some reason or another, I just like decorating difference rooms and spots in our home. This antique hutch is one of them. I think it is because it is a small space that I can use smaller decor pieces in. It is like styling a store or a yard sale (yes, I will be styling our yard sale) – I just love it.

I can see why you would love styling your hutch – such a nice piece and you’ve put just the right pieces and decor in it to make it look fantastic. Sweet white pumpkins peeking out here and there…so fun! Good for you, doing a purge – I definitely need to start going through things we have around here and don’t use.
