If you want to add art to your home but don’t want to spend a lot of money on it, this post will show you how to get FREE art for your home.
I love searching for vintage and antique art pieces in thrift stores and yard sales. They are hard to find but every now and then I run across something amazing. There are many times I am redecorating our home and changing some things up when I want to add some art to a space. When that happens, I need it NOW. I don’t want to have to wait months to maybe come across something during one of my hunts. When those times come up, I go to one of my favorite sites to get FREE art. I am going to share how to get free art for your home in this post.
How To Get FREE Art For Your Home
There are a variety of ways to find free art for your home. One way to get free art for your home is to search online for free digital artwork that you can download and print. This is my favorite way to get artwork for our home. It is so easy. I just print it on my home computer in the size I need. I love putting them in vintage thrifted frames around our home. If you want, you can also edit them and then have them printed from a site like Staples or do it locally in stores like Staples, CVS, Walgreens, etc.
You can also look for free art from local art galleries and museums. Many of them have free exhibitions and events that offer free artwork for your home. You can also browse online art galleries.
Additionally, you can contact local artists and ask them if they have any free artwork available for you to take home. This would give you an original piece which is amazing.
One of my favorite ways to get free art for our home is hunting for free or inexpensive art at thrift stores and yard sales. Always check the free boxes at yard sales! You will be amazed what people put in them – especially at the end of the sale when they don’t want to have to haul a bunch of things to the thrift stores. They would rather have you take it off their hands for free.
Pinterest is a great place to search for free art and images you can print and frame for your home.
You can find public domain art for your home by visiting open-source art websites such as Pixabay and Unsplash. These sites have a wide variety of images, illustrations, and vectors that you can use for free. (I have listed many sites for free art at the end of this post for you to check out).
You can also visit some of the major museums and galleries around the world for public domain art. Many of these institutions offer high-quality images of their collections that you can download for free. You can also explore sites such as The Met to find artworks in the public domain.
Finally, you can create your own art projects with materials you have around your home or check for free classes at your local community center or library to learn how to create art on a budget. I have created all kinds of art pieces for our home but love to use online free prints for certain areas.
