A personal piece of art is just that – personal. It is different for every single person. For me, our home’s “art” includes a DIY Architectural Hanging Map, DIY Birdhouse Decor and Repurposed Arrow Art. No matter what kind of art is in your home, it says something about you. You picked it for a reason that resonated with you.
When we started the home office makeover, I wanted to add a personal piece of art to the walls that would inspire me every day while I work. A few months ago, I took some pictures of farmhouse inspiration in an unexpected way. This little photo shoot was so good for my soul and the post I wrote about it resonated with a lot of my readers. I knew that a couple of the photos I took that day would be the art I needed for the office.

When I think of Minted, I automatically think of Christmas cards, but there is an entirely other side to them.
They have art, throw pillows, curtains and lamp shades too!
Who knew?!
When I knew which photos I wanted for the office wall, I went straight to Minted to get them framed for the wall.
This personal piece of art was so easy to do on Minted.com.
I uploaded my photos, picked the size I wanted and chose the frame I wanted around them.
That’s it!
Then, I sat back and waiting patiently (okay, maybe not patiently) to get them in the mail.
Aren’t they perfect in here?!
They fit the wall so great and they are sources of inspiration every day.
I could have gone to any store and picked out some pictures to hang on this wall, but it wouldn’t have been personal. It wouldn’t have had so much meaning and it wouldn’t have resonated with me. These photos have meaning to me (you can read about it in this post). Every day, I will be reminded of what I learned that day, what I have to be thankful for and what this blog has done for our family.
With the pictures now hung, I want to make this little corner a cozy space. I am searching for a comfortable chair to add to it so I can sit there and brainstorm, research and get inspired. And, since it is a newly decorated space in our home, the entire family spends time in here. It will give them a comfortable spot to sit while I am on the computer.
Like I said earlier, not only does Minted do art work, but they have lots of other pieces for your home.
When we started the home office makeover, we moved the day bed from the room to our daughter’s room. There is a trundle underneath the day bed which is perfect for a girl who loves sleepovers. When we set the bed up, she wanted to add fun throw pillows to it so it could function as a “sofa” when her and her friends are hanging out in there. After I ordered my personal art work on Minted, I checked out their throw pillows and fell in love.
There were so many great options!
After much back and forth, we decided on these two:
The Dotted Line Pillow and the Tales from India Pillow.
Now, I love a good throw pillow. I do. I have many of them around the house.
BUT…. when I opened the box and felt these pillow inserts, I was blown away! The pillow inserts themselves are so comfortable. THEY ARE AMAZING! The designs we chose are gorgeous, but the inserts themselves are what really got me excited. Anyone else get excited about things like this? I want to change out all the throw pillows in our home with these inserts. I don’t think Minted sells just the inserts though??? THEY SHOULD!

Your welcome!
We had a family portrait done a few years ago and we all had to dress up in old fashioned clothes. My older kids hated it but the picture came out great!
That sounds like so much fun!
Thanks ! Love to win on our 50th anniversary on April 11th.
That would be perfect!!!! I will keep my fingers crossed!
i love the photo you took of the door with the rusty hinge and black knob, and the peeling wall and the littered floor, it is so stark and graphic, awesome just awesome xx
What lovely choices found at Minted.com Thank you Lindsay for their web sites introduction. I loved your choices for review, your photos are so real in the moment kind of feel. I can just picture a grandchild’s hand about to open that country door. How creative you are in photo choice to capture. And I loved the choices at Minted for their art shelves and things with the printed arrowhead design. I love the rustic decor look and I found many items at their website to enjoy with that look and feel. I entered their giveaway , thanks!
has minted always offered this?! i never knew if they did! we have ordered our christmas cards from them the past couple years and loved their quality, and i have spent lots of time perusing their beautiful prints…i just never knew they did framing for your own stuff! that’s awesome and something i will definitely be keeping in mind. my favorite thing on our wall is a custom embroidery portrait of our family — me, my husband, 2 year old son, dog, and I had our soon-to-come baby (due in july) also embroidered in my arms and it doubled as our pregnancy announcement 😉
I would love (to purchase!) copies of your prints–these are beautiful!
I have had others say the same thing. I am open to selling them. They are so perfect and make great art pieces! Email my at mycreativedays@yahoo.com.
