Valentine’s Day is coming up and I don’t have a ton of Valentine’s Day decorations to put up. It is not that I am a scrooge about the holiday, I just like the way the house looks after we put the Christmas decorations away and I have purged a ton of things. We are settling in with the “less is more” vibe right now and I enjoy it. Of course, I can’t leave well enough alone and the kids start asking for a little valentine decorations so I get excited to create something for the holiday.
One place I always start decorating is our front door. I do like to have something fun on our front door throughout the seasons, but you all know I am not a fan of the traditional “wreath”. I made DIY Farmhouse Christmas Decor From A Dropcloth and wanted to make a larger version of the heart ornaments into a valentine wreath for the front door.
To make this Valentine Wreath, I followed the same steps from this post.

Supplies Needed To Make These Valentine’s Day Decorations:
Paint Brush
Scissors
Here is a photo recap of the process:
Cute the canvas to the desired heart shape size you want for your front door. Trace the first heart on another piece of canvas and trace it. You will need two hearts of the same size for this Valentine Wreath. Use painter’s tape to tape off grain sack stripes on the front heart. Paint the stripes with red paint. Hot glue around the edge of the hearts to put them together. Leave a 2″ gap so you can stuff the heart.
Stuff the valentine wreath with the Poly-fil. Once it is to your desired “stuffedness”, hot glue the gap closed.
Cut a piece of floral wire for hanging the valentine wreath. Poke the wire through one side of the top of the heart and the other end in the other side. This is how you will hang the wreath on your door. After I hung the valentine wreath on our door, I made a burlap ribbon bow to add to the top.
It really is an easy project and it is Valentine’s Day decorations with a farmhouse vibe. It is a simple statement on our front door to welcome the holiday.
